Hi, I’m Davinder Mahal.
I’m a software engineer who enjoys building things, solving problems, and learning how systems work. Most of my background is in web development and backend engineering, but my interests tend to expand into anything technical or creative that catches my attention.
Over the years I’ve worked with technologies like PHP, Symfony, Node.js, TypeScript, Linux, APIs, automation, and modern web development tools. I enjoy designing software that is practical, maintainable, and built with long-term thinking in mind.
A lot of my curiosity comes from understanding how things work under the hood. That interest has led me into areas like AI and local language models, infrastructure, smart home technology, networking, media systems, and automation. I enjoy experimenting, learning, and figuring things out through hands-on projects.
Outside of software engineering, I enjoy science, sci-fi, woodworking, landscaping, and design. I’m especially drawn to spaces and technology that feel calm, intentional, and well thought out, including Japanese and Scandinavian-inspired design. Whether it’s building furniture, designing a backyard garden, creating a smart home setup, or refining software architecture, I tend to approach projects with the same mindset: make it useful, clean, and built to last.
This site is a place where I share projects, ideas, experiments, and things I’m learning along the way.
Thanks for visiting.
